I program primarily with the Zend Framework, the Jquery AJAX library, and the DSM CMS.
- The Zend Framework is a PHP5 application framework produced by the same people that bring you the language.
- Jquery is a javascript library that reduces hundreds of lines of code to a few reasonable function calls.
- The DSM CMS is an enterprise ready open source content management system that acts like the glue that pulls these client-server technologies together and makes them easily manageable.
Where I'm Going From Here
Web technology is a borderline obsession for me. Every day there are more and more technologies that are being made publicly available. This presents as much of a challenge for cutting edge development as a benefit...you need to try things to see if they work for you, and this takes time. The majority of the time you find that the limitations overweigh the benefilts. At the same time the benefit of seeing another way of doing something is priceless. I have never wasted time learning anything.
My goal over this next year is to take these lessons and evolve the DSM CMS to the point that it is the most straightforward and elegant path between your thoughts and the web publishing. This is a lofty goal, but still the primary focus.
